I don’t know about you, but whenever I think about chihuahua clothes, one of the first things that comes to mind is those pictures you see all over the internet with those little dogs wearing the funny chihuahua costumes. I’ve seen quite a few of these costumes for dogs on little puppies lately, and whenever I get talking with my neighbors about their smaller dogs and the clothes they’ve been buying for them lately, the topic of these silly toy breed costumes is practically unavoidable.
It seems that most of the toy breeds today are destined for a life of lavish treatment and pampering, spent dressed in the most elaborate chihuahua costumes we’ve ever seen in the pet world.
The hardcore chihuahua owners even take it to the extent of making their own costumes for their chis, crafting ornate designs for their dogs and decorating them with ornate trim and expensive crystals and jewels. It’s quite a scene!
But the majority of us turn to the chihuahua shops and stores around the net and in our local pet supply stores to find these costumes for our chihuahuas. It’s not uncommon to see the kind of outfits you see in the video above, ranging from the mildly funny to the outrageously creative and insanely funny dog costumes.
Some people will argue that it’s cruel to dress your dog in costumes in like these. I am not one of them. I think as long as your little toy dog is comfortable in the clothes and his movement isn’t hindered in any way by them, then no harm done. I think these can also help with their socialization, as generally when you dress your little dog in a chihuahua costume, more people are going to want to come over and interact and play with and pet your dog, which provides you with ample opportunity to guide your dog in these situations from a young age.
Any way you slice it, fun chihuahua costumes are a hit all around. They provide us owners with a little amusement, they give our cute little doggies something to wear and show off and use to draw in more people to interact and socialize with, and at the end of the day, all of the smiles and laughs and good energy that these funny dog clothes put out into the universe is a very positive thing, if you ask me 🙂 Cheers, friend -Mikey
