If you live in a warm climate but you hang out with your dog in air conditioned rooms a lot of the time, you might also want to think about investing in a little dog sweater or a dog hoodie for your chihuahua, to keep him warm. Chihuahuas and other little dogs tend to cool off and shed their body heat rather quickly thanks to a high metabolism, and they can get very cold and shake like crazy when spending a lot of time in an air con room with their owners, as a result.

The designs for small dog sweaters are both diverse and plentiful. If you walk through your local pet store, you’re destined to find entire isles of chihuahua clothes and attire for other pets. And if you browse the chihuahua sweaters you can find online, the choices are almost endless: from cute pink mini sweaters for teacup chihuahuas to the classic argyle pattens you see woven into human sweaters around the planet for other little dogs, and everything between. If you can envision a small dog sweater, you can probably find it somewhere online if you look around enough.

I personally have two chihuahuas of my own and I’ve lived with with them in both cold and hot places, from Canada to Mexico, and while Mexico is definitely a warmer country, bringing little dogs into air conditioned rooms and keeping them confined indoors at night when it cools off and they’re not up walking around like the local street dogs, they get cold and start shaking, and are still made a lot more comfortable with by dressing them up with a sweater. My chihuahuas have worn a lot of different sweaters and over the years I’ve found certain brands to be higher quality than others. One of my absolute favorite brands is Oscar Newman. Of course, you can find chihuahua sweaters at your local pet store. The advantage of shopping for them there is that you actually get to try out the chihuahua sweater you’re interested in on your chihuahua and see how it fits and exactly how it looks before buying. The obvious disadvantage of local pet supply stores is the advantage that online pet stores have: the amount of variety.

If you shop for little dog sweaters online, you have access to almost every brand and fashion of chihuahua sweater ever made. You can even find second hand chihuahua clothes for cheap with ease if you browse around on sites like eBay and Craigslist.

If you’re interested in seeing what kind of sweaters for chihuahuas are available online, there are two stores you have to check out: G.W.
