The way I look at things, through my skewed version of dog fashion reality: what better way is there for me to celebrate Christmas time than to dress up my furry best friend as one of Santa’s little helpers with one of the best dog Santa outfit costumes I’ve ever seen?
I’m having a hard time come up with one, to be honest!
Yes, I’ve got a Christmas tree. And yes, my chihuahuas and their bigger dog friends seem to be loving the smell of every needle! But while I was decorating the thing, my dogs could only be described as waltzing around the tree, looking up at me, and wondering “papa, what can I do?” I’m telling you: they were begging for a job to do. But without opposable thumbs and the nimble dexterity to not fall into the tree and wipe everything out when standing on their hind legs and attempting to decorate the tree, they were exactly the prime candidates for being my Christmas tree decorating buddies.
Still, I don’t want to just leave them hanging. So what DO they do well? Well I’ll tell you this: my chihuahuas are darn cute, and I’ll be damned if I don’t put that to use!
At the Chihuahua Shop, we got these adorable dog Santa costumes a few ago–which actually come in sizes for just about every breed of dog out there that you would dress in clothes! And so I decided that all my doggies, big and small, would become Santa’s little helpers this Christmas. So I got them all a little Santa costume, and I have to say: they look freaking adorable (and hilarious!) all dressed up as Kris Kringle, scurrying around the tree!
